To be honest, I read through a ton of old newspapers from this time period and I couldn't help making at least one page into a front page from our fictional town's own newspaper. At this time in history, there were hundreds of individual newspapers floating around, and one attribute of some of them that has become very famous today (but I bet a lot of people don't know the origin) is the idea of a mail order bride. People sometimes got lonely out west, and since they didn't have the fancy dating services we have today, they'd write letters for submission to the local paper in the hopes that someone would read them and respond. I threw a few funny ones in there, but in case you haven't found it, the one he submitted is the very last. Still haven't figured out that this is grown-up Henry? Well, it's grown-up Henry. I also want to point out that in November of 1867 the transcontinental railroad really did reach Cheyenne, and yes, the ad underneath it is a subtle reference to the classic TV series Bat Masterson. haha
Just a warning, this graphic novel is going to contain a lot of violence and junk, so if you don't like that stuff, you probably shouldn't read it.
Thank you! I'm going to be working on more as soon as I get off the internet in a little bit But I'm not quite sure what the second half of that sentence is referring to. Do you mean the part that takes place in 1854?
