Chase and Ranger

Drawn as an Easter gift for my half-sister for so kindly inviting me to spend the holiday weekend with her and some other family members from my dad's side. As the title would suggest, this is Chase (deceased as of 2012) and Ranger (still living), who served many years as my brother-in-law's hunting dogs as well as beloved family pets.

This took me about 15 hours total and I used Crayola colored pencils that I've owned for 15 years. ( Right now I'm in the job-seeking process so I can't afford nice things that are irrelevant. ) Measures at about 8"x10".

Please no anti-hunting comments. You would be directing them to the wrong person.

They are both pointers, but Chase was by far the calmer of the two dogs. So I imagine if this were a photograph he would be willing to pose for the camera. Ranger, on the other hand, is easily distracted so I would imagine it would be nearly impossible to get him to face forward. He would probably be thinking, "Ooh! Is that another bird over there?!" and turn his head at the last moment. Pheasants were the main bird they would hunt, but Ranger's hobbies also include staring at waterfowl in the park for hours at a time. And since I like waterfowl, too, that is an activity we sometimes share when I'm visiting.
