125 Days - Day 83 - Six Amigos

And now for the rest of my penguin pictures! On one of several trips to Hut Point on New Year's Day, I finally was able to see a group of adelie penguins interacting with each other in the wild, instead of just one by itself. There were seven total, although only six are pictured here. I (as well as a large crowd of people) was able to observe them for about 45 minutes as they journeyed around the tip of Hut Point. They definitely acted a lot differently from zoo penguins. Instead of just standing there seriously, they were running around and honking and quacking loudly at each other, clearly playing and having fun. It was pretty amusing to watch, partly because it reminded me of the adelies in Happy Feet.
