125 Days - Day 19 - Passive Skua

This is an Antarctic animal that was a lot easier to take pictures of because they actively try to have contact with humans. If you've ever seen either of the Happy Feet movies, you'll probably remember the brown, seagull-like birds with the northern New Jersey accents that tried to eat Mumble when he was a chick. Those are called skuas. They were all over the place around McMurdo, mostly because they will attack you if you walk outside carrying food. Sometimes you can see them just standing outside of the galley, waiting for people to come out. This particular one was by Hut Point, so it wasn't doing any stalking at the time.
